"Mountains of the Moon ", was a true story of two European explorers,Richard Francis Burton and John Hanning Speke. They came to explore and look for the source of the Nile river, thus leading the Europeans to conquer Africa. The Africans called the Europeans "white men", because they have never seen anyone like them before. This would leave at some points for the two explores to be captured and tortured by the Africans. Not only were the Africans the only dangers in Africa, the European explorers had to face very hot dry desserts & the shortage of water.
The Europeans also had to face diseases and deadly animals and weathers. In Africa there would be deadly bugs and insects and the European explorers would have to be cautious where they would be and what to touch. The Europeans had found the source of the Nile, and named it "lake Victoria" the third largest lake in the world. It is weird that the Europeans would name the source that kind of name , due to the fact that they were in Africa and it wasn't an African name.Europeans had a huge advantage over the Africans because they brought guns and had higher technology than the Africans, all the Africans had spears.

The Meiji Restoration of Japan
On March 31,1854, the Japanese signed a trade treaty with the United States. It wasn't really their option or choice, they were "forced" or some say "bullied", by commodore Mathew Perry, he was a United States Naval officer. Commodore Mathew Perry, frightened the Japanese, by showing his power with military might. The Japanese were not so high in technological devices or products, so when Mathew Perry dropped an anchor 26 miles off the coast of Edo,Tokyo, they were amazed of the movements made by ships with no sails. Mathew Perry brought a strong naval force to scare the Japanese , which actually worked out leading to a trade treaty to be signed.
The Japanese economy began to change, it began to build up its industrial base. The Japanese copied the ways European and American industries worked and provided for its people, they had a key view on how it works by the investigators that were sent out by the Japanese. In 1889, the Japanese government adopted a constitution based on the British and German models of parliamentary democracy, the samurai system was banned, railroads were constructed, and a banking system was started.Japan had made a transition to a western style industrialized country.

Karl Marx and Communism
Marx's point of view of communism is for everyone in society to share the wealth together. Marx once wrote that wealth should be distributed from each according to his abilities, to each according to their needs. Everyone would get the same amounts and social classes would be a thing in the past. Communism is based on the same amounts of money given to everyone in the country. The bad guys in this communism are the system of government, taking away peoples hard working money. Marx wanted communism to take over because capitalism contained its seeds of it's own destruction, meaning it will be no ones fault and people will not be able to argue with either earning to much or earning to little.

Karl Marx and the Industrial Revolution
Karl Marx was born in Germany , and was from a Jewish religion, although his dad changed their religion to Christianity in order to get a job. Although he is a German, he has changed the country Russia with his ideas.Marx felt angry about the idea of the rich getting richer and poor getting more poor. He didn't like the conditions if the factories , he thought they were very harsh and unsafe.Marx thought of the idea where workers, rather than landlords, should take over factories and farms. he ordered "workers of the world to unite" for a worldwide revolution to take back their rights. there were two economical classes, rich & poor, this is where he invents communism. this means the poor and the rich get payed the same salary and money .

Robespierre and The Reign of Terror
"Liberty cannot be secured unless criminals lose their heads".
The quote says it all, people were not satisfied with betrayal and people who are against of the government and state, and they decided to cut their heads for their punishment.Max Robespierre was the main cause for many changes, he closed churches and tried to erase the face of any monarchy , as well of kings and queens, due to the revolution and freedom they have won. The reign of terror was a very difficult time for people who betrayed or didn't agree on the new state, if you did not agree your head would have been chopped off.

The French Revolution
1) France People were critical about Nobles & Clergy because they had privileges that the third estate did not. nobles and clergy were rich and did not pay taxes. They did not have to serve in the military. The king would take away more from the peasants and treated them bad due to their economical issues,
2)A french peasant in 1789 would've grumbled about all the work they had to do to pay off taxes and feudal dues. they would be mad about all the hard work they do , but at the end they get nothing.
3)i think what the artist was trying to do is show how hard working the peasants are , and how much they struggled with paying the second and first estates taxes and financial work.
4)Life for peasants was extremely difficult. they had to be satisfied with what they had and what thy get. they were busy working hard, and trying to receive the best pay they could, but it was just to hard. some had small house and couldn't afford paying for them.
5)Poor people in France resented the rich because they were the ones paying taxes unlike the rich and they were the ones working hard unlike the rich. the rich had it all easy for them, unlike the poor people they suffered paying taxes.
6)His words remind me of John Locke and the enlightment. it also reminds me of the declaration of independence of America.many wanted a government that would benefit everyone in the country not just certain classes.
7)I think they banned it because the king didn't want a form of government like that . he was afraid the peasants would take over.

John Locke and "The Enlightenment"
John Locke was the man , that influenced Thomas Jefferson to make up and write a few parts of the declaration of independence. He had a way of looking at life, with a whole lot of freedom for everyone. He influenced the rights for the people to have life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. He influenced them to never let no one go and take their dream away and thought that everyone should be treated equally. If the government ever becomes destructive it is the peoples rights to make it come to its end, and make a new form of government. They are deriving their powers from the consent of the governed, and that its men's duty to control and keep balanced.John Locke was a very big influence to the declaration of independence.

copernicus and the trail of galileo
well heliocentric means that the Sun is at the center of the solar system , it is a theory. While geocentric tis a theory that the earth is the center of the universe and that other planets or in this case the sun or in the corner. The Geocentry was the first theory ,and heliocentry came out of the scientific revolution.
The trail of galileo, was a very contreversiol dispute between him and the catholic church. He was forced to kneel down infront of the Inquisition and lie about believeing in his new theory of the solar system, he was about to get killed. He was lucky to not recieve that punishment, and was just held in house arrest.

Scientific Revolution :Scientific Method
The scientific method is a method discovered during the scientific revolution. Before 1500, many scientists in that era and many peaople used the bible for thier answers and they also used late scaientists theories too. Aristotle, the great scietist at that time was the person that would use arguements and observations to prove thier answers and experiments, and many people belived him, until two other scientist later on , proved his theries wrong. Now a days the scientific methos is used for many reasons, not even in the science department, but in real life situations. The scientific method doesnt just prove things but it makes true facts and you can be more confident about your results.
The scientific method is all used to prove your hypothesis right. Thier are procedure in which you must follw or make to prove your hypothesis, you may need to list your materials for later uses. You can observe your experemint, and write down and analyze any givin information and result, you may use graphs and charts etc, all to prove your hypothesis. After all is said and done you may look at ypur results and find out if you were right, and if not, theres always going back and doing it all over again.

Evolution vs Creation
Charles Darwin had developed a theory consisting that all living things had evolved from a common ancestor. This thoery is called Darwins Thoery of Evolution, it is belived that all living things has changed due to climate , environment, and try to adapt to new habbitats and new abilitys. This is called Natural Selection , natural selection is a sort of test that is givin to all living forms to see if they adapt to new environments. Some living forms go extinct because of Natural Selection other adapt new abilitys and then again mutate and evolve to new species. Basically the theory explains that evolution is the cause of all living species and forms, and that life was made on its own , all due to mutations and natural selection.
Creationism is belived to be the main cause of all living things in the world, the seas, the animals, people etc. It is belived that the world was built and made in seven days, this leaving sunday the final day , which is set to be the day where god has rested . As well the main cause of all retail stores and shops to be closed on sunday , and as well mass. Due to religious controversies many people dont belive this and go on to belive everything started with evolution.Basically creationism is set to belive that god made everything and is the reason of everything in life.
I beilve in Creationism because of my religion, I am roman catholic, and i believe God made all living forms in earth, and our first ancestors are adam and eve. I believe god made us in seven days, and it all adds upas well, the bible backs up creation as well.
Evolution is just a theory , yes it is true all living forms have been changed and mutated, but they were brought here by god, and only him.
