Robespierre and The Reign of Terror
"Liberty cannot be secured unless criminals lose their heads".
The quote says it all, people were not satisfied with betrayal and people who are against of the government and state, and they decided to cut their heads for their punishment.Max Robespierre was the main cause for many changes, he closed churches and tried to erase the face of any monarchy , as well of kings and queens, due to the revolution and freedom they have won. The reign of terror was a very difficult time for people who betrayed or didn't agree on the new state, if you did not agree your head would have been chopped off.

The French Revolution
1) France People were critical about Nobles & Clergy because they had privileges that the third estate did not. nobles and clergy were rich and did not pay taxes. They did not have to serve in the military. The king would take away more from the peasants and treated them bad due to their economical issues,
2)A french peasant in 1789 would've grumbled about all the work they had to do to pay off taxes and feudal dues. they would be mad about all the hard work they do , but at the end they get nothing.
3)i think what the artist was trying to do is show how hard working the peasants are , and how much they struggled with paying the second and first estates taxes and financial work.
4)Life for peasants was extremely difficult. they had to be satisfied with what they had and what thy get. they were busy working hard, and trying to receive the best pay they could, but it was just to hard. some had small house and couldn't afford paying for them.
5)Poor people in France resented the rich because they were the ones paying taxes unlike the rich and they were the ones working hard unlike the rich. the rich had it all easy for them, unlike the poor people they suffered paying taxes.
6)His words remind me of John Locke and the enlightment. it also reminds me of the declaration of independence of America.many wanted a government that would benefit everyone in the country not just certain classes.
7)I think they banned it because the king didn't want a form of government like that . he was afraid the peasants would take over.
